So many questions arise that we as women would never have thought of until we got pregnant.
What can I or can't I use in cosmetics?
Is it safe for the baby?
How do I keep up with my skin changes?
Most of us want our cosmetics as healthy as possible during this time if any. From stretch mark creams to face creams that soothe itching and irritation, melasma remedies and how to just glow even more and also feel good in those grumpy moments.
Top of the list is "Stretchmarks" some are fine and barely noticeable but the majority of women who go through pregnancy will experience deep seated strechmarks that seem to get worse with weight loss (I'm one of those women) over time it can get better but I've found there's treatments that work.
1. Dermarolling: Dermarolling or microneedling is a process that was originally carried out by a dermatologist. Nowadays, it is also commonly done at home with little training.
I would strictly advise you go to a dermatologist as the deeper the stretch marks the grades of the needles vary and for safety and hygiene reasons, a professional is best suited.
2. Bio oil: This is amazing and had worked for me over time and has reduced my strechmarks dramatically.
3. Vitamin E Oil: This is healthy and safe for you and baby and is a great way to prevent strechmarks as Vitamin E is widely claimed to help speed healing and reduce scarring when applied to skin.
Secondly is "Itching Skin"
As our hormones change some of us experience dry, irritated and sore skin. I've used some products like: The Body Shop body butters, Coaco Butter, Shea Butter based products ect... Basically any products that has some kind of oil content in it. These body moisturizers really help the skin stay moisturized and supple.
During pregnancy our bodies change so much but the most part is to enjoy the process and love the change, we don't all have a team of people who can whip us back into shape and cosmetically make our stretchmarks disappear. We need to ensure we are happy firstly with ourselves and secondly we are healthy.
